2019 ASEEES Summer Convention
14-16 June 2019
Faculty of Humanities and Social SciencesUniversity of Zagreb
Zagreb, Croatia

Call for Proposals for the 2019 ASEEES Summer Convention is now open.  All proposals - panel, roundtable, and individual paper proposals - are due November 15. Acceptance notifications will be sent out by early January 2019.

EXTENDED DEADLINE - November 28th, 11:59pm PT

The 2019 ASEEES Summer Convention theme is "Culture Wars" with a focus on the ways in which individuals or collectives create or construct diametrically opposed ways of understanding their societies and their place in the world.  As culture wars intensify across the globe, we invite participants to scrutinize present or past narratives of difference or conflict, and/or negotiating practices within divided societies or across national boundaries.  We invite papers and proposals that deal with this broader theme, with a range of possible interpretations.

All participants will be expected to register for the convention and pay registration fees.  More information will be posted soon HERE.

The convention will take place on the campus of the University of Zagreb. We have block reservations at three nearby hotels. We will also offer some university dorm space for student participants and participants from Eastern Europe and Eurasia who may prefer a more affordable accommodations. More information is forthcoming.

MAG is offering a travel grant for the Zagreb Convention for residents of Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia.  For more information, visit the MAG site here (grant announcement in Belarusian, Ukrainian, and Russian).
