Zagreb, Croatia

The 2019 ASEEES Summer Convention will take place at the University of Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia.

Co-Chairs
Mary Neuberger, University of Texas, Austin
Masa Kolanovic, University of Zagreb

A Call for Proposals for the 2019 ASEEES Summer Convention will go out in September 2018.

The 2019 ASEEES Summer Convention theme is "Culture Wars" with a focus on the ways in which individuals or collectives create or construct diametrically opposed ways of understanding their societies and their place in the world.  As culture wars intensify across the globe, we invite participants to scrutinize present or past narratives of difference or conflict, and/or negotiating practices within divided societies or across national boundaries.  We invite papers and proposals that deal with this broader theme, with a range of possible interpretations.

The University of Zagreb (1669) is the oldest and largest university in South-Eastern Europe.  The mission of the University is based on scientific and artistic research and aims at sustainable development, artistic creativity and professional work.

For stays up to 90 days, a visa is not required for passport holders of US, most European nations and former Soviet republics, South Korea, and Japan. Please check here to see if you require a visa to enter Croatia.  In most instances, the passport must be valid for at least another three months after the planned departure from Croatia (and issued within the previous ten years).
