ASEEES Commons to Launch November 2016

Since 2015, ASEEES has been collaborating with the Modern Language Association to be part of the new Humanities Commons - an integrated online discussion platform. We’ll be launching ASEEES Commons in November, to coincide with the Convention. Here’s what you can expect:

SRS to host webinars as part of their Area Studies Series

The Slavic Reference Service at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign will host two webinars as part of their Area Studies Series.  This series was developed to address the dynamic changes in Area Studies (Arts and Humanities, Social, Life, and Physical Sciences).  Subject specialists, staff, graduate students, and library administrators are particularly encouraged to register for these webinars.

John Bowlt to Receive ASEEES 2016 Distinguished Contributions Award

The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies will present John E. Bowlt, Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures and Director of the Institute of Modern Russian Culture at the University of Southern California, with Distinguished Contributions Award at its annual convention November 17-20 in Washington, DC.

The Summer 2016 (75:2) issue of Slavic Review is now available. The issue includes a Special Section on Russian Geopoetics, with Anindita Banerjee and Jenifer Presto as Guest Editors.
