Governance

As established in the ASEEES by-laws, the property, business, and affairs of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies is governed by the Board of Directors composed of the President, the Vice President/President-elect, the Immediate Past President, the Executive Director, the Treasurer, the Editor of the Slavic Review, six members-at-large, the Graduate Student Representative, a representative of the Committee on Library and Information Resources, a representative of the Council of Regional Affiliates, a representative of the Council of Institutional Members, and seven disciplinary representatives. The annual meeting of the board is held the morning before the start of the annual convention. 

The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, consisting of the President, Vice President, Immediate Past President, Treasurer, Executive Director, the Editor of Slavic Review and one member-at-large (designated by the President), has the authority from the Board of Directors to handle all aspects of the management of ASEEES. The Executive Committee meets bi-annually - in May or June and then on the evening before the start of the annual convention. Decisions of the Executive Committee may be reviewed by the Board of Directors at the next Board meeting.

The annual meeting of members is held during the annual convention.
